2009 Vacation Bible School Information

This years Wacky Wednesday Vacation Bible School at Deer Park Grace United Methodist Church is “Bible Idol: Who’s the REAL idol?”

Please join us on the following days from 6:00pm –8:00pm:

Wednesday, July 8th

Wednesday, July 15th

Wednesday, July 22nd

Wednesday, July 29th

This year there will be 3 special guests joining us each week. Fannie Flirt, Shirley Shopper, and Wally Winner will perform a song at the end of each evening and it is up to you to decide who will be taking home the title of Bible Idol Champion.

Each child will have the opportunity to gain extra votes over the course of the month. Here is how they can earn extra votes:

* Attending on Wednesday evening

* Bringing a friend (1 extra vote per friend)

* Bringing your Bible (if you don’t have one let us know)

* Visit http://www.deerparkgraceumc.blogspot.com/ and cast your vote on the right hand side of the page. Voting will close on Tuesday at noon.

The voting will be combined over the course of the month to determine the winner of the game. The standings from prior weeks will be announced during the opening each Wednesday.

Kids will be separated into 3 groups by their age

** Group 1 – Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade

** Group 2 – 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grade

** Group 3 – 5th and 6th Grade

Meet the Contestants - Shirley Shopper

Shirley Shopper - New York, NY

Shirley Shopper is a 34 year old and is from New York. Currently she is a Sales Association at Macy's. She loves her job because she can be one of the first in all of New York to see the new items being shipped in daily. She takes full advantage of the 30% discount that Macy's offers its employees. Shopping is her life. Shirley hopes to win this contest so she can get some endorsements. She would love to be the new face of Cover Girl or an awesome clothing line. In her words, "That would be a dream come true!"

Meet the Contestants - Fannie Flirt

Fannie Flirt - Parker, CO

Fannie Flirt is a 23 year old aspiring actress from Parker, CO. She hopes that this competition will give her exposure to meets some really cute boys and maybe even land a role in a movie - maybe something with Zac Effron as her co-star.

Meet the Contestants - Wally Winner

Wally Winner - Anchorage, AK

Wally Winner grew up in Anchorage, AK but since graduating from High School has considered himself a traveling competitor. He bought a RV with his savings and now travels across the US to compete. He will compete in any competition that he hears about and is in it to win it every time. He has never competed in a singing competition, but feels confident that he will take home the prize.
